My Bell Canada phone bill increased 21.8%.
Just got my monthly Bell Canada phone bill. Living in Toronto, Ont. with a long existing land line, it is $30.26 without any features nor long distance charges for the month of September. Until last month it was [21.99 + HST =] $24.84.
New is a $2.77 increase, effective as of August 21st.
$30.46 for a no-feature land line. Sorry, pardon that. There is a touch-tone service charge of $2.80 monthly embedded in the charges; 9-1-1 is only 17 cents however. It is unknown whether the other two dollar pre-charge for whenever I occasionally 'connect' to Bell's own long distance service (within Southern Ontario only) is the same.
However I should feel very glad when next month's amount is only $27.97 as a two dollar extra amount was charged for the 22 days of the Aug-Sep period, plus its HST. Sure, I'll be duped by your 'sticker shock relief'.
That is still a 12.6% monthly increase. What improved service has Bell been providing me? A court-ordered rebate cheque of last fall issued to look like a misleading piece of Junk mail!
Fuck off Bell Canada. And take your god-damn CTV-Two pricey hard-paper schedule* insert card and...
*which only lists its half-dozen Bell Media satellite/ and whatever the fuck Fibe TV is??- delivery numbers.
