Local Int'l Sports fans.
Usually Toronto is regarded as a fantastic int'l soccer fan's city (game attendances excepted); everyone has a different home town and all are welcomed to cheer etc., no matter who wins each game.
Except that right now I follow the news and quite a few European countries are just staggering underneath their weight of self-inflicted, citizenry elected, chronic government-led borrowing and spending.  Then we get our own happy go-lucky Toronto-based fans.  Lots of disposable money for hanging out at restaurants and patios and wearing the (probably manufactured in China) merchandise.  Somewhere is a disconnect.
So, Not-awesome.


In a serious tone - maybe Europe needs a few Canadians (2nd-4th generation) to return.  Look at the way U.S. cities suffered after the flight of middle class whites into their post WWII suburbs, and then by the further parsing of its black communities along income mobility lines.  Detroit is bankrupt from intra-gov't squabbling - yet its small next-door town is hosting an Outdoor NHL game next year for 100,000 fans.
